Our Specialty: Closed-Cell Foam

Closed-cell spray foam is the product we built this company around. Per inch, nothing common beats its R-value. It also stops air movement, and it will not soak up moisture the way open fibers can. When the heating season runs from October into April, that combination is what keeps a building comfortable and the heating bill sane.

We spray closed-cell foam on framed walls, rooflines and vaulted ceilings, rim joists, basement walls, and the steel walls and roofs of pole barns, shops and commercial buildings, where the foam bonds to the panel, stiffens it, and shuts down the condensation that makes steel buildings drip. It is also the right answer where space is tight: a 2x4 wall filled with closed-cell foam outperforms the same wall filled with anything else.

Every estimate names the product, the thickness in inches, and the exact areas included. If closed-cell is the wrong fit for your assembly, we will say so and quote what fits.

Questions

Common Questions

Is closed-cell spray foam worth the extra cost in Minnesota?

On rooflines, rim joists and steel buildings, yes. Closed-cell insulates and air-seals in one pass and will not absorb moisture, which is what a long heating season punishes. On a simple vented attic floor that only needs R-value, blown-in is usually the better value, and we will tell you so.

What R-value does closed-cell spray foam give per inch?

Closed-cell runs roughly R-6 to R-7 per inch, the highest of the common insulations, which is why it suits tight cavities and 2x4 walls. Your estimate states the installed thickness in inches so the total R-value is on paper, not implied.

Can closed-cell spray foam be sprayed in an existing home?

Yes. Rim joists, basement walls, crawl spaces and rooflines are routine retrofit work. Open framing makes it easier, so remodels and additions are a natural time to do it.
